Fårö is unique People are drawn to the Baltic Sea island of Fårö for the unique beauty of its landscape and coastline. Here you can enjoy cycling, walking, swimming, diving, windsurfing, bird-watching or even just making sandcastles. Fårö is equally appealing both in the summer and winter months, although in very different ways. In summer there are plenty of restaurants, cafés and kiosks serving food as you travel round and discover the island. Many of these close for the winter, yet you can always buy food to prepare yourself, and some establishments are open on special occasions and public holidays. Modern conference facilities A conference on Fårö is something very special. And with its breathtaking sea views, Stora Gåsemora enjoys a prime position on the island. The Fårö landscape is unique, with fantastic rock formations and long sandy beaches. We offer accommodation for around 60 guests in apartments of varying sizes. The conference suite can accommodate 30 people and the dining room can cater for up to 50. Meals are served in a room with a welcoming open fire and panoramic views of the estate and the sea beyond. Food is prepared by the house chef Peter Svensson, sometimes in partnership with other local restaurateurs. A full range of activities is available on request. Self-catering accommodation Situated halfway down the east coast of Fårö, Stora Gåsemora enjoys fantastic sea views, and all our accommodation has full or partial views of the sea. The nearest beach for bathing (Sudersand) is within walking distance, and the nearest shop and establishments serving food in the high season are within cycling distance. We offer a wide choice of accommodation, from historical buildings or a former mill to modern conference facilities and charming seaside cottages. In total we can accommodate around 70 guests during the summer season. This number falls during the winter, since some of the accommodation is not fully winter insulated. All winter accommodation features hot and cold water and kitchen equipment. Showers and toilets may be housed in adjacent buildings. Linen and breakfasts can be provided by arrangement. Celebrations big and small Gåsemora’s new conference facilities are perfect for celebrations such as weddings, birthdays or any other special occasion. We provide the rooms, the accommodation, food and drink. The perfect backdrop comes courtesy of our beautiful setting. If you’d like to add some special activities to your big day, please don’t hesitate to ask. We can arrange everything from barbecues, cookery classes with our chef, fishing trips, handicrafts, GPS navigation or a variety of traditional Gotland games, to underwater wedding ceremonies in full diving gear!
